Your volunteer services are needed to make our Ramadan activites run smoothly. Please choose an activity and date and volunteer your time. Contact the office to schedule your volunteer activity @ 612-521-1749.

Volunteers needed for:
Set up C/D by 7:00 pm
Set out dates/water 1/2 hour before Maghrib
Food prep helpers—arrive by 5pm to prepare today’s meal
Meal clean up after iftar each night (Mon-Fri)

Attention Parents
As part of our Ramadan/Eid activities, we will be asking for contributions to provide school supplies and Eid gifts for all our children. When you are contacted, please donate generously. Parents will need to register your child(ren) for Eid gifts and school supplies. We need their name, age and grade. Registration deadline——Friday, August 13, 2010.

The survey has been completed and sent out via email or postal service. If you did not receive a survey, you can get one today by contacting the Masjid office at 612-521-1749. REMEMBER, the survey is for your HOUSEHOLD. Husbands and wives, should not complete separate surveys as this will distort the results. The deadline for responses is August 31st. Insha’allah, we will have the results available by the end of Ramadan.

1st 10 days—10:00 pm (through August 20th)
2nd 10 days—9:45 pm (through August 30th)
Last 10 days—9:30 pm (end of Ramadan)

EIDUL-FITR — SEPT 10—12
3 days of fun-filled, family oriented activities being planned:
Breakfast after the prayer — Carnival — Eid Dinner
WEEKEND COST: $30/family of 4 ($3/add child) $10/individuals

Masjid Etiquette

Masjid An-Nur welcomes all visitors.
It is customary that we remove our shoes and sit on the carpeted floor in the Musallah (prayer hall).
We can accommodate anyone that requires a chair.

YOUR IMMEDIATE ATTENTION IS NEEDED TO THE FOLLOWING ITEMS:

Turn off cell phones and pagers when in the Musallah.

Place shoes on the racks. DO NOT leave shoes in the middle of the halls.

WUDU STATIONS are on the lower level. DO NOT make wudu in the upstairs restrooms. We must keep the floors dry for safety’s sake. Please wear your shoes at all times until you are ready to enter the musallah.

SILENCE DURING JUMAH KHUTBAH.
As with most religious ceremonies talking during the Jumah prayer is not is not good etiquette and we ask that you please refrain from talking during the Khutbah (Islamic adab) .

ALL VISITORS – MEN & WOMEN:
Clothing should be modest. Tops should have sleeves and no plunging necklines. Mini-skirts or short pants (above the knees) are inappropriate. An overgarment is available for use while in the Musallah.

WOMEN VISITORS: It is customary for women to wear a head covering during the prayer. A head scarf is available for use while in the Musallah.

PARENTS OF SMALL CHILDREN
Please DO NOT allow children to run and play and disrupt the prayer service. If children become unruly, please take them to the lower level. Speakers are on and the khutbah and prayer can be heard in its entirety.

NO FOOD OR DRINK ALLOWED IN MUSALLAH.
