I attended The State of Marriage among Muslim Americans by Imam faheem Shuaibe of Oakland CA. Some of his comments: ummah is not jumah gathering Ummah is when you see yourself expressed fully in your environment. When your needs are being met in your neighborhood: the grocery, barbershop, cleaners, Restaurant is readily identified. This is akin to what we know as ethnic neighborhoods: Chinatown, Mexican or Arab community.
The cornerstone of ummah is Marriage and marriage is th cornerstone of the family. Marriage life dictates the state of our commmunity. Imam Shuaibe is founder of M.A.R.I.A.M. Muslim American Research Institute Advocating Marriage. We should host his 3 day workshop in Minneapolis SOON.
Taraweeh prayer is at 10pm and Fajr @ 450 tomorrow with Ramadan sessions after prayer. Friday morning workshop include Quranic and Arabic language, media Economics, group volume buying, community development, family involvement in education, hajj – all before Jumah Prayer. Four Ramadan Sessions will be held Between 3 and 7pm
